American Fossil Solutions, LLC is Hiring a Construction Project Manager Near Gallipolis, OH

American Fossil Solutions, LLC is looking for a Project Manager to support its subsidiaries, Silver Bridge Excavating, LLC and Stoneworks Enterprises, LLC. American Fossil Solutions and its subsidiaries currently support the energy sector in the mid-west, and east cost United States. The company is looking to expand its service geography.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Project Manager

The Project Manager will be responsible for oversight and management of ongoing civil construction projects for the company, primarily in the Energy Sector. The Project Manager will be working closely with other team members to ensure that all project plans, deadlines, schedules, and project budgets/estimates are on track. Responsibilities include site coordination and management, resource coordination, labor management, estimating, submitting project deliverables, preparing status reports, and establishing and executing effective project communication plans.

Targeted Work Experience

The candidate should be a proven leader with experience in project management and/or have significant related site superintendent responsibilities, and the ability to lead project teams of various sizes. A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or related experience is an advantage.

We are looking for a project manager with 3 to 8 years of experience in one or more of the focus areas of experience. These focus areas are fossil generation, renewable generation, electrical distribution, and electrical transmission segments of the energy sector.

The candidate should be proficient in all aspects of civil site work including foundation work, flat and structural concrete work, and trenching work. The candidate should have experience managing project budgets.

Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for execution and overall management of the project contract.
  • Provide project detailed estimated costs with resources needed and duration.
  • Draft proposal letter and clarifications and exemptions for others to approve.
  • Understand equipment capabilities for different applications/projects.
  • Selection and oversight of supervisor/foreman to ensure that all crew supervision responsibilities are met.
  • Work with owner representatives to ensure that project scopes and requirements are completed as agreed to and obtain customer acceptance of project deliverables and ensure they adhere to quality standards as necessary.
  • Develop good working relationships with customers to identify and develop new project opportunities.
  • Ensure that project and employee supply needs are met.
  • Coordinate with cross discipline team members to make sure that all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules.
  • Meet with project team members to identify and resolve issues.
  • Prepare status reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information.
  • Establish effective project communication plans and ensure their execution.
  • Responsible for project cost tracking to ensure that customer billings are accurate, complete, and timely. Ensure that project cost accounting is properly managed on firm price and T&M projects.
  • Review and approve project expenditure vendor billing.
  • Review and approve supervisor/foreman time for payroll.
  • Facilitate change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of the impacts on schedule and budget.
  • Manage project scopes and develop change orders as necessary. Write and sign change orders as a representative of the company and manage the C/O process with the customer. Make sure all extra work is being diligently tracked by the project supervision/foreman.
  • Conduct post project evaluation and identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Prepare T&M project estimates (small projects) and write and sign letter TM proposals and small project proposals letter to customers.
  • Work with the project supervisor/foreman to manage layoffs and ensure that the company’s layoff/payoff process is managed effectively.
  • Communicate and coordinate payroll needs.
  • Adhere to and assure adherence by employees to company safety manual, customer safety requirements, and all local, state, federal laws.
  • Lead and document incident investigations. Promote and document good catches and near misses.
  • Manage union contracts, work with Union Business Agents, understand and manage local union agreements, the NMAPC and its associated Book of Decisions.
  • Coordinate the development of user manuals, training materials and other documents as needed to enable successful implementation and turnover of the process or system to the clients.
  • Submit credit apps for vendors as necessary to the company for completion.
  • Assist the company to grow business with existing customers and develop opportunities with future customers.
  • This position will work out of the Gallipolis Ohio office and travel is required.

Project Manager Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in a directly related field or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in construction project management.
  • Ability to lead project teams of various sizes and see them through to completion.
  • Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies.
  • Able to complete projects in a timely manner.
  • The position involves working with hands, ability to stand, walk and sit for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 75 lbs. Must be able to climb a ladder.
